ALISSA FRieDMAN
Occupation:
I am a gallerist and art adviser.
Favorite part of your job:
I am surrounded by art everyday. I work with artists who are unpredictable and inspiring. I travel the world and no two days are the same.
Heritage/Roots/Background:
My family is predominately Eastern European. My grandmother on my mothers side was a painter, and my grandfather on my father’s side collected art. I grew up in Boston and came to NYC for college where I still live.
Top 3 artists/songs on your Spotify:
This is a hard one as I listen to a lot of music. Here are a few things I’ve been listening to this week.
- "I Didn’t Know What Time It Was"by Cecile McLorin Savant
- “Clap Eyes” by HVOB
- “Lucky Girl” by Jazzanova
Best advice you've ever received from another woman:
Be outspoken and don’t blend in.
THIS SPACE MEANS TO ME:
This space is beautiful, and full of light. It has the elongated proportions of a church - a kind of sacred space for art on the Bowery!
